Originators of the Magnet Drive Pump
The magnet driven, sealless, centrifugal process pump was first pioneered by HMD Kontro in 1946. Today's emphasis toward increased safety and the minimization of liquid releases to the environment make the HMD/KONTRO sealless pump the logical equipment choice. Unmatched reputation for wide-ranging experience in the Chemical Processing Industries positions the HMD/KONTRO pump as the premier design when second best won't do.
All HMD/KONTRO pumps are sealless. This specialization and focus ensures that you benefit from the latest developments in drive, materials and fluid flow technologies as well as the experience of more than 65,000 pumps in the field. The HMD/KONTRO product family has been assembled to provide designs matched to the pumping needs of the process industries. Single-stage centrifugal configurations are available for flow rates to 3,000 GPM/681 m 3 /hr and heads to 700 feet/213 m; designs are available to meet ANSI B73.1 and API Standard 610 industry specifications.
HMD/KONTRO pumps comprise a complete product family of magnet to magnet "synchronous" couplings that take advantage of optimized physical sizes and materials' magnetic strengths to maximize the pump's efficiency. In addition to this technology, HMD/KONTRO pumps offer a unique "torque ring" design that extends the pumping temperature range to 825ºF/450ºC without the need for external cooling.
Standard electric motors are used to drive either close or long coupled configurations. The metallurgical experience used in all HMD/KONTRO pumps spans all machinable alloys for pump casings, impellers and containment shrouds ensuring long life with even the most corrosive liquids. No manufacturer has more experience with proper application and lubrication/cooling system management of non-wearing silicon carbide bearings. This experience includes high system pressures to 5,000 PSIG/345 bar, self-priming and heat jacketed designs.
Whether your pumping needs are acids, hot water, hydrocarbons, high melting point liquids, heat transfer fluids or other corrosive, toxic, volatile and expensive process liquids, HMD/KONTRO pumps meet your needs.
